Volcano Winery

Visit the World’s Most Exotic Winery!

Volcano Winery is Hawaii’s award-winning winery, located in Volcano about 3 miles from the famous Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The winery produces distinctive Hawaiian wines made with grapes, tropical fruit, and even honey.

A favorite with tourists, it was also recently nominated by locals for the Retail Merchants Ho’okela Award as the island’s Best Small Business for the year. With free wine tasting daily, its relaxing, fun environment make it a delightful destination on the Big Island.

Volcano Winery has found its niche in making wine that is uniquely Hawaiian, rather than pursue the winemaking ambitions of mainland wineries. Real local fruit like yellow guava and the unusual jaboticaba berry are used in making the winery’s fruit blend offerings; the dessert Macadamia Nut Honey Wine is made with honey from the island’s Macadamia Nut blossoms.

Both the Hawaiian Guava and Macadamia Nut Honey wines are bronze medallists in Atlanta International Wine Summit and Riverside International Wine Competition, and are top picks with locals as well. For more traditional palates, the winery makes 2 dinner whites from Symphony grapes, which also boast the distinctive island lychee flavor with peach and apricot.

Visitors to the island are amazed to find a winery in such an unexpected location, and often make it a point to visit before heading to the National Park for the evening lava flow.

The friendly and knowledgeable tasting room staff welcomes both the experienced and inexperienced wine drinker with Aloha. Here, visitors can expect a taste of Hawaii found nowhere else.

The winery is open 365 days a year from 10:00-5:30 and is located at the 30-mile marker on Pii Mauna Drive near Volcanoes National Park. Wines are available on most of the islands, and shipping is available to certain states on the mainland. For more information, call (808) 967-7772 or visit online at www.volcanowinery.com.
